Rather, it happens because the remote desktop program doesn't support Aero, for whatever reason (for instance, with Microsoft RDP, connecting to Win 7 Pro machines doesn't support Aero; with other software, the necessary changes made to support remote desktops can slow the computer to the point where it must turn off Aero).
